It’s the last day of term 1 and everyone forgot to get dressed when they woke up this morning! I can’t work out what is going on!?

Performing!
This afternoon we did some Easter activities and some of 3A performed an Easter themed play. They performed with gusto and humour. Their expression and wonderful acting skills made us all laugh!

Cross Country
Today was the big day that everyone had been training for! Cross country! With a bit of trepidation, we all set off. It was windy and hot but everyone tried their hardest and ran as fast as they could. Best of all, we all had a great time!

Tuning in to interesting words
Our Learning Focus this week in Reading is ” Tune in to interesting words and use them in speaking and writing.”
One of our activities was to find interesting words in our Independent Reading books and write them onto leaves. We then made this interesting word tree!

Sea science night
On Tuesday night our friends from Barwon Coast came and taught us all about our local environment.
Brooke taught us all about the estuary and the plants and creatures that live there. We played a blindfold game where we had to identify some of the things that live in the estuary.
We then went into th art room where Mark taught us all about some of the plants that live in the sea and river near Barwon Heads. We learnt about different types of algae (sea weeds), Kelp forests, Sea dragons and mangroves. We saw an underwater movie taken around the bluff!
Finally we went to Mrs Jordan’s room where John Duthie taught us how to play Barwon bluff bingo! It was really fun! Some of the questions included ” it has a hard outer shell”
